Plans
For prices, see the pricing page. What each plan includes is in Limits and plans. Single sign-on (SAML or OIDC) is planned and not available yet, on any plan, so no plan includes it today.
Plan & billing
Settings → Plan & billing shows the workspace’s Current plan, and Your access shows your own role. The owner also sees:- the subscription’s Status: Active, Trialing, Payment failed, Unpaid, Cancels at period end or Cancelled;
- when it Renews, or, once it has been cancelled, when it Ends;
- on Team, the number of Seats;
- Invoices: up to the 12 most recent, with the number, date, amount and status (Paid, Due, Open, Void or Uncollectible), and View and PDF links;
- Manage billing, which opens Stripe’s customer portal in a new tab, already signed in to the workspace’s billing account. Change the card, cancel, and download receipts there.
Upgrade
Choose Upgrade to Pro. Stripe’s checkout page opens. Once you have paid, you come back to Plan & billing, and the plan changes as soon as Stripe confirms the subscription to Hookie, normally within seconds.- The new limits apply at once, to this month too: the events and deliveries already counted this month are measured against the new plan’s numbers.
- Destinations and database sources that an earlier downgrade paused are resumed, oldest first, as far as the new plan allows.
- Deliveries held past the old allowance are not sent on their own. Choose Send held deliveries on each project’s Deliveries tab.
Cancel or downgrade
Cancel from Manage billing. A subscription set to end with its billing period keeps its plan until then: Plan & billing shows Cancels at period end and the date it Ends, and you can renew it from Manage billing before that date. When the subscription ends, the workspace moves to Free. A move to a lower plan, whether from a cancellation, a failed payment or a trial ending, applies the new plan’s limits straight away:- Destinations and database sources over the new plan’s numbers are paused, newest first, and database source poll intervals are raised to the new minimum. See When your plan changes.
- The monthly quotas keep this month’s counts. A workspace that has already used more than the new plan allows has its new events refused, and its deliveries held, until the 1st.
- The shorter retention window applies from the next cleanup, a few minutes later, so older records, submissions and deliveries are deleted then.
When a payment fails
Stripe retries the charge, and meanwhile the workspace keeps its plan. Plan & billing shows Payment failed, or Unpaid, with a Pay … now link to the open invoice, and the audit log recordsbilling_payment_failed. Pay the invoice, or change the card in Manage billing. If every retry fails, Stripe cancels the subscription and the workspace moves to Free.
The sign-up trial
When Hookie offers a trial, the sign-up page has a checkbox such as Start a 14-day Pro trial; the plan and the length are Hookie’s to set. A workspace created with the box ticked runs on that plan until the trial ends, with no card. Plan & billing shows how many days are left. When a trial ends without a paid subscription, the workspace moves to Free and the new limits apply as for any downgrade, and Upgrade to Pro is there as for any Free workspace. A trial is only offered when a workspace is created.Keep the plan: add a payment method
During a free trial, Plan & billing shows Add payment method, followed by the plan you are trying and its monthly price. It opens the same Stripe checkout as Upgrade to Pro, for the plan you are trying. Your paid subscription starts when checkout completes, and the trial ends then: checkout bills from today, and the days left in the trial are not carried over. Once Stripe confirms the subscription, the trial notice goes away and Manage billing appears. As with any checkout, only the owner can complete it. A trial of a plan that is not available to buy yet, such as Team, shows no Add payment method button.Good to know
- Quotas and billing run on different calendars. Monthly quotas reset at 00:00 UTC on the 1st, whatever day the subscription renews.
- Closing the workspace cancels its subscription at once. See Delete, export and close.
- Only the owner sees the subscription details and invoices, and can upgrade, add a payment method during a trial, or open Manage billing.
